Main Screen:

There are two ways to specify the machine’s IP, on which the PDF conversion and creation products need to be installed. The main screen shows two sections at the top, wherein you can enter IP Addresses.

Firstly, you can specify the IP of machines singularly by entering the IP Address in the given box. In this box, you can enter only single IP Address

Then click on the ‘Deploy’ button that will start the deployment process on the machine with given IP Address.

Secondly, you can start the deployment on multiple machines simultaneously. For this, the Administrator can import a text file that has multiple IP Addresses of the systems requiring deployment. The IP addresses in the text files should be either Comma or Enter delimitered. Administrator can click on the ‘Import File’ button and all the IP Addresses in the specified file will be uploaded. In order to start the deployment process, click on the ‘Deploy’ button that is next to the ‘Import File’ button as mentioned below:

On clicking the ‘Deploy’ button, the deployment process gets started for all specified IP Addresses.

Grid

Beneath these two boxes, you will find a grid that shows Serial Number, IP Address and Status. In case if you have entered single IP Address and initiated the deployment process then in the grid the specific IP is displayed in the column of IP Address. The value in Status column will change according the actual deployment process happening on the system.

If you have imported multiple IPs through a text file, all the serial numbers get displayed in the Grid simultaneously and their status changes according to the deployment process.

Status values

The column of Status in the grid will show various stages of deployment process.

First, it will show the status ‘Initializing’, which is a pre stage. It checks whether the system where software is being deployed is ‘On’ and whether its IP is valid. If the system is not ‘On’ or IP is invalid, it will display ‘IP not found’.

The status in second stage is ‘Deploying’ when the actual deployment process starts.

The status in third stage is ‘Deployed’ which means the two software applications have been installed on the system. If there is any failure in the third stage of deployment, then it will show the status ‘deployment failed’.

View Log

Beneath the grid is another button called ‘View Log’. On clicking this button, a popup window opens up which displays the logs of the deployment process on the systems / IP Addresses on which two software applications are installed. The logs also give the execution or deployment time, which means the time taken to install software applications on the remote system. The time is displayed in minutes and seconds.

The ‘Exit’ button is clicked to close the DocSmartz Power Server software.
